Have you ever been planning for a trip and wishing you could find a travel size of your favorite product? You can always do a search for “to go” or “travel size” at the places you normally shop, but now there three web sites devoted exclusively to upscale travel size beauty products. The Little Luxury Samples Store was recently launched by Total Beauty. They have travel size products available from several brands and their offerings are a bit limited, but the prices are quite reasonable. 9/29 Update: As of today the Little Luxury store is offering free shipping with any purchase plus a free two piece Pevonia set worth $46; end date unknown. If you are looking for a wider variety and more well known brands you can try shopping at 3floz.com. They have a much wider selection of brands and also there are some delightful little kits they have assembled (they even have an Organics section). The third site where you can purchase travel size beauty products is The Minimus Boutique. They sell travel size products of both prestige and drugstore brands as well as single serve grocery items useful for travel, and shipping is free with any $20 purchase. 

Since I’m writing about travel, here is just a quick note on packette samples. A well selected cache of these can be a godsend if you are ever stuck overnight without your luggage (as I was twice in the past year). When you are selecting your samples at Sephora.com or Beauty.com or elsewhere, try to assemble a kit for yourself that you can keep in your handbag or carryon, just in case. If you are careful most packettes can be used twice (once at night and once in the morning). At bare minimum this is what I always try to have in my carryon: A cleanser (that doubles as a makeup remover), eye makeup remover (packette samples of these are rare so grab them when you can), eye cream, serum, and moisturizer (two of these, one for night and an SPF for the next day). I now also always travel with a mini toothbrush and toothpaste, mini hairspray, and mini mascara. The first time I was stuck without any of this and I was so miserable so now I always carry a small bag with these little samples.
