  1. I was hoping to see the GWP from lancome at Belk in March but it does not look like they will have one..
I did some internet research and it seems like they are planning to pull out of Belk following Chanel/Dior.
Hope Lancome will stay at Macys/Nordstrom/Bloomingdale. I really do not want to buy from Lancome website after hearing so many terrible experiences from everyone. Plus they only ship for free free if the order is above $75. Their min purchase limit is also higher.
Have a wonderful day everyone and Lisa thank you again for your efforts for this wonderful site!

    1. Hi Marky!

Lancome.com has already changed their website, like they are getting ready to go to completely online purchases. I tried to find where I could upload a receipt from a department store to get my reward points, and couldn’t find it. I finally found something in the FAQ section, which I rarely look at. But now, instead of uploading a picture of a receipt directly to Lancome, you have to send it to someone that they outsource it to.

I also am very worried about the fact that all last year, and this year, they seem to be emptying out their warehouse. They constantly, since April of last year, are having promotions where if you buy a product you get a second full size free. I can see that being fine once or twice a year, but ALL year, constantly???? It suddenly hit me a couple of weeks ago that they may be emptying out their warehouse??

If anyone has any insight on this, please comment, because I am wondering if Lancome is doing more than pulling out of department stores. Maybe consolidating everything to one country because they are going completely online anyway??? I buy clothes from a company that ships internationally, why not cosmetics???😃

This is all so very interesting to watch…..😃 Because it isn’t just about beauty products anymore. I think this is going to be a trend across the board with a lot of other things that we buy.

      1. Hi Debbie!
I totally agree with you. They have been having this buy one get one free promotion all year round, I am not sure if they just want people to buy to increase their sales during the pandemic, or they just want to empty their warehouse. One thing that I notice, it’s always same items that they are doing promotions on such as teint idole foundation or genefique eye cream, at one point I thought they are coming out with new products and that’s why they are trying to rid of old stocks.
In Bloomingdales’ new GWP you do get the Renergie eye cream but that product is probably phasing out since they have the new renergie ultra.
Have you tried selfridges website? For $55 a year they ship to US from
UK unlimited which is a great deal especially some of the products are so much cheaper since they take off VAT before they ship them. (The price was so cheap when I joined last summer, it has gradually increased but still cheaper than the US price). The downside is that you can’t really return them and there’s no GWP.
I noticed the complete makeover of the lancome website. I hope if they want to shift their focus to online sales, they better step up their game and offer more competitive deals and lower min purchase limit for GWP. Otherwise meanwhile I will stick to Macy’s and Nordstrom since you get to see and feel the products and they have better return policy.
Have a wonderful evening and thank you Debbie for the message!
And again thank you Lisa for this wonderful blog!

        1. Hi Marky!

Thank you so much for suggesting Selfridges! There is a perfume from Lancome that I would like to order from Lancome.fr or Lancome.uk but they don’t ship to the USA. I’ll keep an eye out to see if Selfridges will have it. I have a feeling that we won’t get it here in the USA. It’s La Nuit Tresor Dentelle de Rose.

I agree that Lancome needs to do better, or they will start to loose customers. They have been out of Tresor lotion since December, and they discontinued all the other Tresor body products. So many customers have complained, but they don’t listen. I have to buy the Tresor lotion at department stores. So if they pull out of department stores…….😒 I hope they at least stay at Macy’s. My BA at Macy’s said that they are a huge account for Lancome.

Have a wonderful weekend! And I also thank you Lisa for this blog and letting us comment here about our Beauty Journey! Beauty products, and especially GWPs, are so much fun!

          Debbie😃

          1. Hi Debbie! I talked to a beauty advisor at Macy’s tonight at the Lancome counter. She is not strictly with Lancome at Macy’s, she is more or less a floater who works at various counters in the store but I asked her if she had heard anything about Lancome pulling out of department stores and she said no she hadn’t.
She also added that just this morning they had gotten a huge shipment in from Lancome. Some of this shipment included La Vie Est Belle perfume that they had run out of over the holidays and had not been able to get until now. A big incoming order like that is a good sign.
I also plan on asking an actual Lancome sales representative at Macy’s when one is available for me to talk to since like I say the woman I spoke to does not work exclusively behind the Lancome counter.
In my opinion the fact that she had not heard anything about Lancome leaving stores and the information that she gave me about that large Lancome shipment that they received this morning are both good signs.
I will post a comment on here as soon as I do get to speak to someone who is strictly a Lancome salesperson at Macy’s.
I am also planning on speaking to someone at Nordstrom very soon and will let you all know of anything that I find out during that conversation.
Have a nice weekend Debbie! And everyone. Have fun and enjoy! 🙂

            1. Hi Guinnevere69!

Thank you so much for the info! I really hope that Lancome stays with Macy’s! There always seems to be a Macy’s where ever you go, so they are very convenient to shop at.

My BA at Macy’s broke her ankle falling down in the Lancome storage room at Macy’s, so I haven’t been able to speak with her. I was told she will be back in April. Luckily she is doing fine,😃 just a lot of physical therapy.

              Debbie😃

              1. You’re very welcome Debbie! And like I say I will be talking to more people at the Lancome counters around here and will let you know about any developments.
And wow, that’s very unfortunate that your beauty advisor at your local Macy’s was injured. I am glad she is doing fine and I wish her a speedy recovery.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend! 🙂

    1. I don’t wear lipstick either! I wear tinted lipbalms and lipgloss. I’m more into skincare and perfume, and especially love all the body products that match a perfume.😃 I give one of my best friends all of my Lancome samples of lipstick. She loves it and wears them all the time!😃

  2. I just got an email from Estee Lauder. They put a GWP on their website.
Spend $45 to qualify for the gift and there are also a couple of step up gifts, the first being with a purchase of $80 and the second is with a purchase of $130.
It is a GWP they have had before. And it will be available through the weekend.

  3. As of today (February 24) Lancome is no longer available on the Von Maur site! I wonder which store is next!

    1. Hi Lisa & Everyone!

I googled this and found that Estee Lauder is pulling out of some department stores and closing some free standing stores in the future. Not sure which stores or when.😳 I’ve heard that the world is going to go towards more e-commerce in the future. This is going to be interesting to watch…….😒

        1. I have seen a lot of changes to this industry since I started this blog but this one is pretty worrisome! I’m interested to see what plays out over the next few months. Thank you for sharing this with us!

    2. Hello! Clinique Question, please! Do you know if Clinique has discontinued the “Exfoliating Scrub” in the green tube? It has been the best clean-feeling good facial scrub. (Different from the 7-Day scrub, which leaves a residue perhaps moisturizer on the skin). It has been out of stock on their website and in stores for a few months now.. If so, are you able to suggest another clean-feeling deep-cleaning, but not irritating, facial scrub? (Oily skin types need something powerful but gentle like this one). Thanks!

      1. It looks like Kathy found it for you (thank you, Kathy!). And if anyone else has a suggestion for a good scrub please share! I usually just use free samples and I have yet to find something I’d like to buy a full size of!

        1. Am very happy to be helpful. Unfortunately, nordstrom.com has it sold out – a shame since they have a nice GWP right now and have no minimum limit for free standard shipping. Macys.com does have it – and can do 4 payments on Klarna; sephora.com carries it too. HSN.com has it – currently can also do 4 monthly payments there. BTW, somewhat OT, some of the Lancome line is available @ nordstrom.com, hsn.com and a nice selection of it on macys.com.

          1. Kathy and Beautybonus, thank you both so much! Kathy I do appreciate that you researched this for me, too! Clinique’s “Exfoliating Scrub” is one of my 3 favorite scrubs now — the others are Freeman Charcoal & Black Sugar; St. Ives Pink Lemon & Mandarin Orange. I am 64 with oily skin and cannot live without a facial scrub! But, like Goldilocks, it must be just right, with a clean feeling and without any post-washing residue; and a deep cleaning but not completely irritating;, while remaining a real scrub. 😀 PS I have been using Lancome since I first went to college + Clinique Scrub + Estee Lauder Time Zone eye cream.

  4. That is a disgrace Lancome’s apparent blatant haughty attitude in deleting e-mails advising of issues on their Web site without even bothering to read them?! Similarly in possibly disenfranchising loyal consumers who buy their products In department store chains. Maybe it is time – even though their products are great – to say au revoir/adios with their brand given the website issues & the company’s attitude. (BTW a fair amount of the Lancome line IS available on HSN.com which right now has a free shipping deal – at least on some lipsticks I just ordered there – AND a 4 monthly flex pay option ;)) Estee Lauder is another great option – touch wood – their web site isn’t plagued like Lancome’s is; a fair amount of Estee Lauder’s line is available on QVC.com. Still another option is Clinique which is owned by Estee Lauder – they have similar products to their parent company but are more competitively priced – and a fair amount of the Clinique line is available on HSN.com

    1. Hi Kathy! And everyone. 🙂
I emailed Lancome earlier regarding this decision they’ve made to pull out of certain (if not all, we don’t know for sure yet) department stores.
I received a reply that was totally not related to what I had put in the email that I wrote.
My email suggested that if they are starting to leave department stores they should at least have their products available in at least a couple of the larger chains such as Macy’s. For all of their Lancome user’s convenience since many people like to see cosmetic shades in person and smell fragrances and so on before they buy.
Their reply a little later in the day was that the product that I inquired about (even though my email had nothing to do with a specific product) was not available in the United States. They added that they can’t order it for me since it is not available for international shipping. They also invited me to their website to look for products available in the U.S. when again, this email I sent them was not regarding a product–it was about this situation of them leaving stores.
So someone there evidently did not read my email and sent a random reply. Because this reply I got from them had absolutely nothing to do with what I had written in the email I sent this afternoon.

  5. Hi Lisa!

I just got a call from Von Maur and the lady told me that Lancome is pulling out of their store, with other stores to follow!! Von Maur is the first of a ripple effect that will take place! Lancome wants to concentrate on putting their money into the online business.

The ONLY good thing about this is that Lancome will have to 1. Have an incredibly amazing return policy, because the customer can’t test the product out before buying. 2. Give customers a lot of samples all the time so that they can try out the products.😍🤩

Lancome will have to do an overhaul on their fulfillment center though.😒

      1. Sure! If I hear anything more, I’ll let you know. I wonder if anyone else who visits your blog has heard anything too.

        1. Hopefully they will also comment and let us know! I did a quick online search and didn’t find anything so I’m guessing they haven’t announced this yet!

          1. I talked to the BA at Von Maur and she said that a BA at Saks said that Lancome is pulling out of Saks in the Fall!😳

    1. I just emailed Lancome and told them my thoughts on their taking their products out of department stores because I disagree with what they are doing since it will definitely make things inconvenient for customers.
It may or may not help them to realize how many people will be unhappy because of this decision they’ve made but at least I know I have given them my feedback and I think that the more they hear from customers the more likely it is that they will consider keeping their brand available at certain chain department stores.
A lot of the time when a company makes a decision it is hard to change their minds but basically what I told them is that if they decide to pull out of many retail stores they should at least consider holding onto a huge chain like Macy’s since most states do have several Macy’s locations in them. I hate to see them leave any chain at all but they should at least have their stuff in person at some stores.
I also told them that GWP events are what makes me buy Lancome 99 percent of the time so if they are going to operate almost fully out of their website they should consider holding more GWP events on the Lancome website.
Lets hope for the best everybody. 🙂

      1. Hi Guinnevere69!

I completely agree with everything that you said!!!😃 Sometimes Lancome.com will run out of a product that I want and take forever to restock it, so I buy it from a department store. There is a certain product right now that has been out of stock for about two months!

I already am sadly thinking of a back-up plan. I will start using Estee Lauder skincare and find a new fragrance. I have been using only Lancome products for both skincare and fragrance for awhile because I like them so much. I worked for both Lancome and Estee Lauder at different times years ago, and both are my favorites of the Big Three.😃

        1. Hi Debbie!
I have definitely seen the Lancome website run out of products here and there, making it necessary for customers to buy from a store instead.
It was very wise of you to come up with an alternative plan for fragrance and skincare seeing that it is a very real possibility that we all may need to do that if Lancome does become unavailable in stores. I am glad you have come up with something! 🙂
I think that if they do not make themselves available in at least one or two department store chains they may end up being rather sorry. Because many people may decide to switch to another brand.
I am so glad you have made us all aware of this situation. It gives us time to plan ahead.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend! 🙂

          1. You too!😃 Hopefully you won’t be getting all of this snow coming across the country right now! We are scheduled to get it tomorrow through Tuesday.😬😳🥶

            1. Thanks Debbie!
I just received a text message from the Estee Lauder counter at my local Macy’s and they said they are starting to do pre-sells for their Spring GWP (I usually start seeing GWP’s in stores in March for that brand).
$39.50 will get you a 7 piece gift and if you spend $80 you will also get a full size eye cream.
I just thought I’d post this information in the comment section since I know you’re thinking of going to Estee Lauder if Lancome leaves retail stores plus I know many of the GWP fans who visit this site might like to know about this upcoming GWP from Estee Lauder.
Be safe, Debbie, if you do end up getting a lot of snow. Ours is coming later this week from what I understand. Hopefully we’ll miss it though LOL! Enjoy the GWP from Estee Lauder if you should decide to go for it! 🙂

              1. Thank you Guinnevere69! I think Estee Lauder gifts are really beautiful! They always seem to have wonderful samples.😍😃

                1. You’re very welcome Debbie! You’re right, Estee Lauder gifts are very nice and have great items in them.
I went to Macy’s last night and did a pre-sell for the Estee Lauder gift that they have coming in March.
I got the main gift and then I was so close to the minimum spend for the step up gift that I went ahead and got something extra so that I could qualify for that gift as well. I guess I can’t go wrong with a full size eye cream, which like I said before, happens to be the step up gift. 🙂

                  1. Oooooh! I love it when that happens! GWP’s are just so much fun! I do that too: spend that extra amount to get the Step-Up because they usually have some of the better products.😃

      1. Oh dear!😳 This is sounding like a trend and what the BA at Von Maur said, “A ripple effect”! I checked the Boscov website and you can’t even order Lancome from them online. It’s going to be interesting to watch what happens in the coming year!

  6. I’ve had issues over the last year with Lacome.com and have stopped ordering from them. Received this today which confirms the decision: Your message

    To: Lancome-USA
    Subject: RE: LAN_08202694 [ ref:_00DA0Y5FR._5005A1IKllU:ref ]
Sent: Wednesday, August 12, 2020 8:59:12 AM (UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)

was deleted without being read on Thursday, February 11, 2021 7:48:36 AM (UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada).

    1. Oh my goodness, that is just not right! I’m so very sorry!! I’ve heard from others in the past about issues ordering from them but I hadn’t heard anything for a while now and assumed they had fixed their issues. Clearly that is not the case!

  7. I got an email from Lancome this afternoon saying that they are having a 25% off sale sitewide and that it is going on through February 12th. And I have been on the site for a little while now and it does look like just about everything has been marked down to a 25 percent off price.

  8. I just picked up the pre-sell order I had at Macy’s for the Lancome GWP. It’s a really nice gift and there is a night cream included which you don’t see very often unless it is part of a step up gift which this is not, it is part of the main gift.
The only thing with this gift is the bag feels like it was a little more cheaply made than most of the other bags I have received from Lancome. It is a pretty bag however. Very nice color. Just maybe a thinner material or something (I can’t quite put my finger on what it is but like I say it is not what I am used to with Lancome).
That being said, the products that are inside the bag are awesome. I got the choice that included the blush and it’s a beautiful shade of blush. Definitely a gift worth going for!
I was very tempted to go for the step up gifts that they have going with this particular GWP but I have so much Lancome stuff right now that I decided to just stick with the main gift. Plus I want to order the Dillard’s Estee Lauder gift since I love the look of the bag that one comes in so I figured I’d go ahead and do that instead.
If you are considering ordering or going to the store and picking up this gwp I would highly recommend treating yourself with this one.
