Limited Edition Beauty Sets

I love this time of year. For buying beauty products, that is. So many companies come out with some kind of “limited edition” or holiday gift set that has whopping amounts of product for little amounts of money. I was checking out some of the new selections over at Sephora, and found quite a few intriguing items. I’ll be highlighting one each day (until I run out of favorites). Today’s cool product is Benefit Cosmetics Primpcess Glamorous Eye Primping Kit. Benefit’s little kits (Realness of Concealness, Justine Case, Big Beautiful Eyes) are awesome to keep in your handbag or gym bag, they all include mini sizes of some of Benefit’s most useful and popular products. This limited edition Primping Kit contains minis of Boi-ing (my very favorite concealer), Eye Bright, Creaseless Cream Shadow Liner in R.S.V.P. (sparkling champagne), 3 powder eye shadows, BADGal mascara, and two handy brushes, plus a step by step lesson on how to apply it all. All yours for only $34, available at Sephora and Benefit Cosmetics.

No changes on department store beauty gifts with purchase today, although I did learn that Beauty Week at Macy’s will be ending on Sunday, October 5. There are a couple of freebies on beauty products through the beauty department at amazon.com. If you purchase $60 worth of merchandise from beauty.com through amazon.com, you will receive free shipping plus a free mini Sonia Rykiel perfume, a $25 value. And, if you purchase $50 of products from Nars at Amazon.com, you will receive a free full-size Positano lip gloss (a $24 value) with your purchase (3-day shipping is free if you spend $60).

DuWop is supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month with two new products: Liplingo Pink lip palette and Pink Shimmer Brick powder. When you buy either item, you’ll receive a free cute little pink wristlet. No code needed, expires October 31, or while supplies last.

And only two new coupons today, for free shipping at either Elizabeth Arden or Biotherm. At Elizabeth Arden, enter code BFFS at checkout, that expires October 10. At Biotherm, enter code SHIP98 at checkout, that expires October 9.

Neiman Marcus Gifts with Purchase

There are several “new” gifts with purchase available over at Neiman Marcus. (They look a lot like the same gifts they had a few weeks ago during their beauty event, they must have had some left over. But we’re not complaining!) There are bonuses from Trish McEvoy, Yves Saint Laurent, Laura Mercier, Kiehl’s, Fresh, Estee Lauder, Lancome, and several others. The Lancome one looks very pretty. With any $100 Lancome purchase you will receive a bonus gift that includes the following:

  • Definicils High Definition Mascara in Black
  • Full Size Le Rouge Absolu Reshaping & Replenishing LipColour SPF 15 in Rose Petale
  • Color Design Sensational Effects Eyeshadow Quartet in Daylight, Waif, Pose, and Couture
  • Dual Finish Versatile Powder Makeup in Matte Buff
  • Absolue Ultimate Bx Replenishing and Restructuring Serum
  • Absolue Premium Bx Absolute Replenishing Cream SPF 15 Sunscreen
  • Signature Cosmetics Case with Matching Companion Bag

Plus right now if you spend $200 at Neiman Marcus, you will receive free shipping on your entire order with code NMOCT, that expires October 5.

There’s a new Clinique offer over at Bloomingdale’s. With any $25 Clinique purchase, you’ll receive 2 freebies: minis of High Definition Lashes mascara in Black and Liquid Facial Soap in Mild. If you’d rather purchase directly from Clinique, there’s a new coupon today. With any purchase, you’ll receive free shipping and a free mini High Impact Mascara in Black. Enter code CAUSE at checkout, this expires October 6.

Have you heard of a little company called Arcona? I’ve just started trying this company’s wonderful products and I really like the ones I’ve tried. Over at Beauty.com, right now with any $35 Arcona purchase, you’ll receive a travel sized Peptide Firming Complex. I would recommend the White Tea Purifying Cleanser as something to try, I’ve been using it lately and it smells so wonderful and makes my skin feel so soft.

Pink Ribbon Beauty

Its October 1st. Today is the first day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Odds are, if you’re reading this, you’re female. I read yesterday that every woman has a 1 in 8 chance of being diagnosed with breast cancer at some time in her life (although, that’s not as scary as it sounds, read this great article for more information). I know, this is a beauty buying site, not a medical site, so I won’t go on and on about this, but please: get a mammogram! If you’re over 40 (I’m only 37, and I’ve already had more mammograms than I can count, plus a lumpectomy scare). Yes, its a little squishy, and it can be a little uncomfortable, but your life is worth it. (And, if you’re so inclined, and you’re over 21, you can participate in what I call MammoMargarita Day. Get a mammogram, have a margarita. I’m not saying run out and get drunk. But if you got your mammogram, you had to suck it up and be poked, prodded, and squished. I’d say that’s worth a little tequila! Anyone have a recipe for a pink margarita they can share?)

If you’re not a drinker, you’re most definitely a beauty shopper, if you’ve found my little blog. So now to the beauty gifts. Every October, a plethora of companies tout their “pink ribbon beauty” items, most of which donate a “portion of proceeds” to breast cancer research. Some donate a little, some donate a lot, but at least they are trying. I’ll keep a page running of my favorites (mostly beauty products, with some other items thrown in) at my Pink Ribbon Beauty page until the end of this month. Estee Lauder has supported breast cancer research for years and annually comes out with pink products that are quite pretty. And Clinique is again selling a limited edition bottle of Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion, with a cute charm (pictured below). Its $35 ($10 of that goes to fund research), and is available from Clinique and Nordstrom.

Not too many new gifts with purchase to share today. Over at Bloomingdale’s, with any $35 Lancome purchase, you will receive 2 freebies: deluxe samples of Bi-Facil and Definicils mascara. But straight from Lancome, I think this one’s pretty cool. With any $25 purchase direct from Lancome, you’ll receive a pretty compact with four eyeshadows, a blush, and powder, plus a deluxe sample of Renergie Cream. Enter code BYEBYE at checkout, no expiration is listed so I’m sure its while supplies last.
